I would be very hesitant to put any time, effort or energy into building a list for anything that you’re not absolutely passionate about.

If you spend time on a thing that you’re not really into, you’re training your brain to allow yourself to spend time on other things that you’re not absolutely passionate about. But... If you make the decision that you’re only going to be doing things in your life that you’re absolutely passionate about and you’re going to make vast amounts of money doing it, guess what you’re going to find?

Opportunities that will allow you to make that happen and make it real.

Money is energy. You can leverage energy. You can focus energy. You can transform energy and you can move it around. People who make a lot of money are generally people who are good at manipulating energy.

YOU are going to need to be able to get really good at manipulating energy in order to make your marketing work. You’re going to have to be able to put some time, effort, and energy into building your squeeze pages so that you can build a list.

If you’re going to do build an awesome list, do a great job of putting the squeeze page together and put a lot of energy into it. Do it right and you'll build a great list. If you’re not willing to do that, then don’t do it at all. Does that make sense?

going to get involved with. That’s whether it’s an affiliate program that I’m going to market or whatever. I need to spend a lot of time, effort and energy writing great emails for the things that I’m going to promote.

If it’s a teleseminar, I need to spend a lot of time, effort and energy putting together a high-converting squeeze page to take advantage of the list-building aspect of the deal, with a great thank you page and a good one-time-offer in order to make money all along the way. I need to spend a lot of time, effort and energy coming up with the system.

If it’s not something that I’m really pumped about, I don’t do it. I’m really trying to give you the same advice that I have to give myself, because I’m presented with thousands of opportunities every week. For me to be interested, I have to see list-building opportunity because I'm all about that, and I have to see a way to make money. But if those things are present, I'm not passionate about the project, and it's not something I want to do, I won't do it.

Only build your list around something you really love, something that you don't mind expending energy toward. If you find that thing, create fantastic squeeze pages that convert well and build your list and only work with people who have something you're interested in. Though it's always about money, it should always be about building your list, too.
